I was quite content with the original version until I noticed the pocket problem. I had JUST submitted it to a group and realising how bad it work look, I knew I had to do something about it.
I'll admit the hand could be better, but I'm generally pleased with how it came out. It took a while to get it to the level you see and I feel it's the best I can acomplish for now.
I also tried using brighter colours for the skin and shirt shading and took this opportunity to tweak the feet a little. I know it probably looks odd/unrealistic but I do like how his right/our left foot came out.
----------
Out of all my characters, Silrun is "1st Generation". He's existed since the dark days of my FFVII fan fiction as "Ace Strife". He was Cloud's brother in the first draft, a random orphan in the second draft who adopted Ace Strife as a fake name until he learnt his real one and in the third only used it to hide his identity. When I switched to spriting, he became Caracal Pepin. Finally, having moved away from spriting and the Caracal alias, he's able to re-claim his original name without the need for an alias or anything like that. Fun fact - Silrun is a hybrid of Silver and Run and during a period of time I wrote it as Silrȗn.
As I said before, Silrun's design is quite "fluid". As long as he's wearing the bands and his hair is red, he can wear whatever the artist wants. I simply put him in a blue shirt because, well...
I also used this picture [link] as basis for the hand.
As always, constructive critasism is appreciated and any tips are more than welcome. However please respect that I am a novice who's come back to drawing after 18 months. This picture may get re-worked depending on the feedback I get.
Silrun Tameto Pepin was created by Peter Williamson. Any similarity between him and another character, be them original, established or real is either a conincidence or due to inspuration.
Most of my element based OCs are tied to one of the ancient Gods. I find mythology like Greek and Norsh interesting (though I need to read up on it more). The only pain is trying to find the right God for some elements. I had to use Ares for my metal based character as I couldn't think of anyone else who fitted
Over all the picture looks pretty good just keep practiceing.... Though something I knoticed is that his hair seems to be trying to over take his neck XD

I thought I'd make this comment based on both pictures, so that way I won't cram your message box.
When it comes to the pose, I do seem to like this one more, while the shading is a lot more noticeable, which I find is good for it to stand out more.
Criticism, I'd say his arms do seem a little too lanky, whilst the leg on our right also seems to be longer than the other, given the pose I assume you've gone for.
Pockets look a lot better, and you got the hand spot on in my opinion, as it took me over a good year or so to ever get the bloody things right.
Keep it up mate.

I blame Tekken for my high expectations in good looking men.
