Recently I was asked by Nocturnaliss to write up some information about Morgan Elianja. I had a lot of fun doing this and felt it helped develop and flesh out my character more, so I've decided to share it as a journal. There may be some touch ups and additions to what I've written and I'm sure I'll be doing some for other characters of mine in the future.

The last two are part of some "palette experiments" I've run to try and improve some of the issue with her original palette, as well as serving as inspirations for a new design.

Key Words

Arrogant but still valiant.

Likes/Dislikes

As an Amazon I'd say she enjoys combat, both competitive (i.e. the sparring someone would do in a martial arts class) and and realistic, making her a bit of a "Blood Knight". While I wouldn't say she enjoys killing, she has no hesitation to do so, though she prefers to let potential rivals live so they can grow stronger and she can fight them again.

Outside of that, I could envision her having a fondness for the metal genre of music, partly as she loves the furry the songs can have and as a minor elusion to her father, not-Hephaestus. I can picture her rocking out to it while she's training.

Finally, as a Nephilim she is bisexual though she doesn't have a preference on the gender of her lover. However she is on top, no matter what.

On the flip side she dislikes people who are lazy, make excuses and generally like to slack, especially the ones she feels have potential. While she doesn't dislike her half sister, I'd say she's not fond of her either due to the headaches Aleria is known to cause Morgan.

Global Personality

Because she is the princess of the Amazon tribe and the demi-god child of one of the eight Gods, she has a slight arrogant, superior attitude with a slight degree of smugness. Part of it is due to her skill as a fighter and the knowledge she can back it up. As a result she tends to give off a strong presence whenever she walks into the room and was able to quickly take over as leader of the Nephilims (previously it was Camilla and Miguel working in tandem). I'd say she also has a bit of a spoiled "I take what I want" kind of attitude.

However she is still valiant and noble, having been known to stand up for those who can not fight back (though not those who won't, considering them to be a slacker). She does believe everyone has the potential to better themselves and would prefer not to let them die so they can achieve it.

I do feel one of the other Nephilims need to ground, her but at the moment no one has the confidence or strength to stand up to her. Ironically it wouldn't matter to her as having the guts to do so would earn her respect.

Background Info

One night the Metal God Hephaestus randomly chose to lay with a warrior in an Amazon tribe. Due to their devotion to the Gods, the tribe believed the woman to be special due to this choice and viewed both mother and child as royalty in their culture

As she was a princess I do see her growing up with a degree of luxury and easy living, leading to her getting what she wanted and slightly spoiled. However she was also expected to be their greatest warrior and would also get the best training possible, quickly turning her into a skilled warrior. I picture her training until exhaustion all day, then wining and dining on the best the tribe could provide by night.

As with all Amazons she was initially hostile to all outsiders, including other Nephilims but after being told of their quest she understood it was her duty to join their slowly growing team and help hunt down the Fiends. As mentioned her attitude lead to her wanting to take over as leader and her strength ensured it would happen. I see her as the physically strongest of the Nephilims, rivaled only by Miguel (Celeste I see as being more agile and Janine is a mage). She is slowly learning that the outside world doesn't work the same as her tribe and just because she had people devoted to her that doesn't mean the rest of the world will follow suit.

Her mother did have a second child, Aleria - Fury of the Wild - , though the father was a mortal man. Initially she didn't care for her sister, seeing her as simply someone else who would give her what she wants. Over time her mother was able to teach her to be more compassionate to those who weren't born with what Morgan had, and Aleria's dedication to train and one day beat her sister lead to Morgan developing an admiration for those who are willing to push themselves and get stronger. While Aleria hates her sister for being showered by the tribe, Morgan was inspired to grow and improve as a person due to her sister's dedication and is genuinely upset Aleria won't see past her own rage.
